How to Overcome Setbacks like Edison did

A setback is usually considered bad, yet it is a crucial element of learning and self-growth. In school, failing in an exam is considered really bad and students are often scolded or punished by their teachers and parents. In professional life too, not being able to finish a project on time is immediately punished with losing a project, promotion, or in worse cases your job. But failures are inevitable in life and they are crucial learning opportunities that can help us grow, become better, and continue moving forward with grace.

It’s Okay to Fail

Instead of dwelling about failure, we must understand how to learn from them and change. Failures teach us things that success never will. When things go wrong, we learn what doesn't work and we make smarter choices next time. Instead of being afraid of failure, we should see it as an opportunity to grow and develop our skills. Overcoming failure develops resilience, or the ability to keep going against failure. Fighting against failure makes us stronger and more able to cope with challenges in the future. The more we fail and recover, the more resilient and capable we become.

Many of the world's greatest ideas and inventions passed through a lot of failures, like before succeeding at inventing the light bulb, Thomas Edison tried and failed over a thousand times, but what matters is that he kept on going despite those failures. When we fail, it prompts us to think creatively and make things work. This way, failure leads to creativity making us think about new ways that we might not have considered.

To Never Give Up

Every failure of yours gives you an opportunity for learning. With a review of what went wrong and a necessary adjustment, we make our methods better and our chances for success greater. Those who can learn from their mistakes have a better chance of success in life. Failure is not the end but a new beginning for ideas leading to success. Instead of feeling defeated from failure, we should welcome it, learn from it, and use it to become a better version of ourselves. Having the right attitude can make every failure a chance for growth and improvement.
